Eurodac – access for law enforcement authorities

The Eurodac database contains the fingerprints of persons applying for asylum in a Dublin state or caught entering the country irregularly. The Swiss law enforcement authorities do not yet have access to this data. In order to improve Switzerland's internal security, the Federal Council intends to give the law enforcement authorities access to the Eurodac database, subject to certain conditions.
